My Students
My students are amazing! All of them are bilingual or are learning to be. Some of them have three languages. These kiddos are the future adults I want to be caring for the world. My students come from all over to attend our dual language Spanish/English school and their families are diverse in culture.
My students are curious about the world around them and so eager to learn.
They are a dynamic, interesting, and interested group of young people who love to learn about life.
My Project
My students are all language learners of some kind. At my Dual Language school, the kids in my class learn English, the other half of their day is in Spanish. As roughly 80% of my students are learning English, it is important to give them all the advantages they can get in order to gain language proficiency.
Language learners need a variety of opportunities to interact with their new language.
With this document camera, my students will be able to see read aloud books more clearly. They will be able to share their Writer's Workshop stories, and show small items they have brought to share with the class. The document camera will provide many authentic scenarios in which my students can practice their Speaking and Listening skills.
