Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your first school experience?I do! It was a year of laughter, making friends, painting, counting, learning letters, playing in the dramatic play area etc. This was the experience that all of my preschoolers were experiencing until we had to close our schools down and go into distance learning.

As we face uncertain times, I want my students to know they are cared for, considered, and heard.

My students are very curious, hard-working, and energetic.

The majority of our students come from low economic backgrounds. We are a Title I school and all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

How do you explain what is happening to a four year old? My preschoolers left school on a Friday, thinking we were coming back the following Monday. Days pass by and my students continue to ask through our Zoom meetings, when are we going back to school teacher? My response is always, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be very soon.

My preschoolers are missing out on the best part of their first school experience!

For this reason, I am requesting 13 sets of magnetic letters with whiteboards and storage boxes. When we left we were learning about letters, sounds and building words. These kits are the perfect solution to continue practicing what we have learned. The pencils are so ideal for my little ones to hold. They will help them continue to practice letters, shapes, numbers etc..

Please help me make up for the lost memories that we could have been building during our first school experience.
