This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom message is TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More. We focus on working in collaborative groups to assist each individual to be successful. We are organized in teams and sit at tables, rather than desks. In this way, students share their workspace​ and are more committed to assisting each other.

We have a growth mindset, and my students now "Believe in the Power of YET!" They know that they might not be able to do something yet, but they can persevere until they are able to accomplish their goal.

They are encouraged to be academic risk takers, and they rise to the challenge.

We have tables in our classroom, in order to have a more work space that allows for S.T.E.M. projects. This classroom creates a more comfortable working environment that tends to energizes the students.

My Project

Hands-on activities are always more engaging for students. These programming robots will give my students an opportunity to work in teams to program and RUN the ROBOTS. The students will have to program the robots through a maze or a set of challenges as they dive into S.T.E.M. activities.

As they program, the students themselves will face challenges and will have to maintain a growth mindset in order to problem solve.

My students will see the robots move immediately after programming and will have to decide whether they were successful the first time, or whether they have to go back, rethink, revise, and reprogram.

These robots will not only give my students a first encounter with programming, but they will also help my students to persevere, problem solve, and work as a TEAM to communicate as they program the robots.
