The soft lamps and light covers have made a huge difference in the atmosphere. The harsh fluorescent lighting that often felt overwhelming is now softened, creating a calm, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable and focused. One of my students even commented, \"It feels like a real library in here!\" during independent reading time, and many others have said they feel more relaxed when working on their assignments. The change in lighting has noticeably improved focus during quiet work and small group activities, helping students feel more at ease and ready to engage.\r\n\r\nThe paper organizers have also been a game-changer. With clutter reduced and materials clearly organized, students now know exactly where to find what they need and how to put it away. During a recent writing project, I noticed students were able to start their work right away without asking for supplies or searching for folders. One student proudly shared, \"I didn't lose a single paper today!\" This sense of independence and organization has given students more confidence in their abilities and allowed us to use our class time more efficiently.\r\n\r\nA specific moment that stands out was during our science lab last week. Students were tasked with recording observations and sorting data into their folders. Thanks to the organizers, each student had their own space to keep worksheets and materials in order. They were calm, focused, and clearly enjoying the process. Normally, we would spend several minutes just trying to find the right paper or get organized. This time, they were ready to dive right in, and the experiment went smoothly. I could see students taking more pride in their work and feeling empowered to complete tasks independently, which was a direct result of having these resources.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue using these materials in upcoming projects. In our reading and writing units, students will be using the new lighting to create cozy reading corners, where they can immerse themselves in books and reflect on their learning. The organizers will continue to support writing projects, research assignments, and art activities, helping students keep track of multiple materials while staying engaged. By fostering a calm, structured environment, we are helping students develop lifelong skills in organization, focus, and self-management.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has not only improved the physical classroom space but also enhanced the learning experience for every student. Simple resources like lamps and organizers have had a meaningful impact, creating a space where students feel at home, empowered, and motivated to do their best work. Thank you for giving our students the gift of a welcoming, organized, and inspiring classroom—they truly appreciate it every day, and so do I.","fullyFundedDate":1750774715122,"projectUrl":"project/lighting-the-way-to-a-cozy-classroom/9277271/","projectTitle":"\"Lighting the Way to a Cozy Classroom\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pez's","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2527757_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539385086513","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-pez"},{"teacherId":8234318,"projectId":9533378,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom has been transformed! Your support provided us with essential materials — STEM supplies, dry erase markers and cleaner, graphic novels, and sheet protectors, that have brought new energy, creativity, and organization to our daily learning.\r\n\r\nOur STEM supplies have turned curiosity into hands-on exploration. Students now eagerly build, test, and redesign their ideas during science and engineering activities. The excitement and teamwork I see during these lessons are truly inspiring!\r\n\r\nThe graphic novels have also been a huge hit. Even my most reluctant readers are now excited to dive into books and talk about what they're reading with friends. It's amazing to watch their confidence and comprehension grow with each story.\r\n\r\nWith our dry erase materials, students can show their thinking clearly and make quick corrections without fear of making mistakes, a big boost for building a growth mindset. The sheet protectors have helped us reuse resources efficiently and keep our classroom organized, making it easier for students to take ownership of their materials.\r\n\r\nAs a Title I classroom, every item you helped fund has had a direct impact on my students' learning and confidence. Your kindness has created a brighter, more engaging, and supportive learning environment for every child in our class.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and giving them the tools to think critically, read joyfully, and learn with enthusiasm every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757608300267,"projectUrl":"project/necessities-in-rm-14/9533378/","projectTitle":"Necessities in Rm 14!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Redwine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8234318_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762996881234","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8234318"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39652","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":518,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"21.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":84.4,"schoolId":39652,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lawrence Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lawrence Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/lodi-unified-school-district/lawrence-elementary-school/39652"}
