Imagine walking into a school with hundreds of children. You are only five years old and have only attended preschool with many fewer students. Or maybe you didn't go to preschool and this is your very first school experience.
I want my kids to learn to have fun in this big school!
I have students with various ethnic backgrounds, including some that just moved here from other countries within the past month. I also have three students that will be joining us from a self-contained classroom. The majority of my classroom is comprised of boys (sixty-six percent).
Students need to have some time to work on engaging reading and math apps at their level. Using an Osmo and an iPad, students will be able to work on beginning, middle or ending sounds. If they have progressed with all of these, they can try to spell words using just a picture.
In the area of math, students will be working on number sense, number identification and counting.
As they progress through these skills, they will be challenged to complete harder material.
Please consider helping our class gain these reading and math materials that will help them work individually or with a partner.
