My students are an enthusiastic, passionate, and engaged group of scholars. They are comprised of fifty students from two different homeroom classes. They are a very diverse group of learners, including several special education students and students with 504 plans. These fifth graders come to school prepared to give 100% each day, but the traditional classroom environment doesn't meet the needs of all of my scholars. I have a high population of at risk students who I strive to motivate and engage each day. 100% of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Many of my students come to school for a safe place to learn and be nurtured each day.
My Project
Our students are digging into digital learning by creating podcasts, video projects, and more. One way that we can enhance these projects is by adding microphones for our voices to be heard loud and clear by our audience. This will help provide not only higher quality sound in our videos, but practice using these devices as well. This will add an authenticity to the students' learning in the classroom. We also will add a protective case to keep our ipad safe while we create our projects. This project will add an apple pencil to use during our video production! These tools will increase our effectiveness in our digital creations.
With this project, my students will know that their voice is valuable and they have something important to say.
I have no doubt that through this additional technology we will be able to increase student participating and engagement in the classroom.
