My Students

I have 19 amazing young boys and girls in my classroom. Each one comes from such diverse backgrounds and brings an amazing culture to my classroom. They are kind, loving, VERY energetic, compassionate about learning and love a good challenge. They specifically love all things STEM related. They are beginning to dig deeper into research and are learning how to ask questions to further their learning. They love learning and they love one another. We are one big family! I look forward to being able to add materials to my classroom to help enhance my instruction and help continue to feed their hunger for learning by creating a hands-on inquiry based environment.

My Project

Help me give my students materials to support growing plants and maintaining greenery in the classroom. Students will learn how to care for plants and appreciate the growing process!

My Students:

My students are ages 6 to 7. They love hands-on learning and truly thrive through these activities. They enjoy working hard, having fun, and learning through enriching experiences. Their thinking is expanded when they can conduct their own experiences, instead of only reading about them.

Materials Needed:

We are in need of plants and planting materials to improve our classroom environment and provide science and community-focused learning experience. Any help is sincerely appreciated!

My Project:

Students will improve their classroom environment by growing and caring for plants. These materials will allow my students and me to work together to set up plant life and greenery in the classroom, establish class jobs and responsibilities to maintain the plant life, and provide for a more hands-on approach to learning about plants. Students will engage in real world learning.

This project has the power to establish a life-long love of planting, gardening, and science for my learners! We have begun the integration of more STEM projects into our classroom and throughout our entire school. We are working diligently to help our students become life-long learners through STEM lessons, but the process of getting materials when starting something new has been a stumbling block. These materials will help overcome this obstacle.

Your support would help impact the lives of these deserving students. ELA, Science, and Art standards will all be integrated through these lessons. Additionally, the majority of the materials will be able to be used for future classes as well; therefore, your contribution is not only helpful for my current class, but for classes I will teach in years to come.
