I already know the difference they will make for my students. Many of my second graders rely on school for consistent nourishment, and having a supply of healthy options will support them during independent work, small groups, and especially in the afternoons when energy tends to drop. Some will be sent home for students to have over the weekend so that they do not go hungry or feel the need to cook for themselves. I am looking forward to setting up a \"Healthy Snack Station\" where students can easily grab what they need to stay focused and ready to learn throughout the day. This one-time donation will help meet a real need and will remove a quiet barrier many of my students face.\r\n\r\nI can already imagine the excitement and relief my students will feel when they see the snacks arrive. Many of them often worry when they don't have anything to eat during the school day, and I know that having a variety of healthy choices will mean so much to them. I expect students to want to help unpack the boxes and organize everything—this class loves to take pride in their space! Most importantly, I know they will feel cared for and supported by people they may never meet, which makes this project even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nAs we move into new units in reading, writing, and math, these snacks will support students in staying focused, regulated, and ready to engage with more challenging tasks. We will be starting partner and small-group projects soon, and having access to the snacks will help students maintain the energy and concentration needed to participate fully. Even though this project was funded one time, its impact will last far beyond the moment the boxes arrive. Your generosity is helping create a stronger, more equitable learning environment, and my students and I are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1763498221609,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-snacks-for-all/9784290/","projectTitle":"Healthy Snacks For All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gandy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10297238"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6912","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":530,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":43,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.9,"schoolId":6912,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Alice Drive Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Alice Drive Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/sumter-school-district/alice-drive-elementary-school/6912"}
