This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Please help me provide play items for my students through developmentally appropriate play items for our classroom.
We have seen a shift to an emphasis on academics and have forgotten that play is actually how young children learn best. Developmentally appropriate practices and the science of learning indicate that young children can build not only social emotional skills through play opportunities but also practice academic skills when the play is guided by an educator.
These pretend play items will add to our home set that we have in our classroom and help my students develop rich play scenarios where they can practice their skills in a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
