My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds with lots of enthusiasm and lots of energy. We strive to create a kind, caring and loving environment in our classroom so that all students feel comfortable in their learning environment.

We are a Title I school and our school participates in the back pack buddy program where students that qualify receive a backpack of food for the weekend.

These students look forward to coming to school not only for learning, but for consistency, caring and compassion that they find in the walls of our school and classrooms each day.

My Project

We are requesting a small sofa, lap desks, a recliner, active chairs and bouncy bands for chairs. Flexible seating is one of the newest trends in the education field. The idea is to create an comfortable environment. Students are empowered by making their own choices. Flexible seating gives students the ability to choose where they sit during critical learning times throughout the day.

As adults we get distracted when sitting for long periods of time sitting at a desk, so of course we know that children do also.

Children need to move. Flexible seating allows non distracting movement while maintaining more time on task and focus on the assigned activity. It also gives students the opportunity to have the freedom to engage in learning from a different perspective in the classroom.
