Legos and Marbles to Inspire Creative Thinking

My Project

The first three days of school I introduced my students to different challenges to help them begin to work in groups. I used Legos, dominos, and Kinects to assign different challenges and activate their critical thinking skills, communicate and work as a team.

My students were very excited and engaged when completing these challenges.

I always do a marble rollercoaster project at the end of the school year. The students take an entire day to research, design, and assemble a marble rollercoaster. I would like to add some additional engineering challenges during the last week of school to help keep their engagement.

The National Geographic Magnetic Marble Run STEM kit and the Lego Chain Reactions STEM kit will give them endless challenges and a great brain break after our state testing is complete. This is one of my favorite times of the year to allow my students to explore their creativity without the restraints of being graded on their performance.

Please help my students obtain these tools to expand and enhance their natural curiosity.
