I have a class of 20 energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students. Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes. All of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances.
I want to help these students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!
My students and I have been learning so much thanks to our new literacy curriculum. One of the literacy blocks we have everyday is called Labs. During Labs, the students get to rotate in workstations and explore materials that correspond with the learning modules. My students favorite workstation is called the "Imagination" workstation. They are allowed to build using blocks, play with puppets, and dress up. I was able to receive a small box of LEGO bricks for my students to use, however, the amount of LEGO bricks is very limited for the things they want to create.
My students are extremely creative!
The things they come up with have truly blown me away! That is why I am requesting more LEGO supplies for them so that they can expand their creativity and make the Imagination station more enjoyable. There is no telling what more fascinating things they will be able to make with your help! Thank you!
