This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a small rural community in California. Our school population is less than four-hundred students. My school is a Title I school, and thirty-eight percent of students are designated as English Language Learners.

My students come from families that are hard working, value education, and value community and family.

This work ethic and sense of community is present in our students. My students strive for excellence and value education as an important aspect of their lives. Our school may be small but we are mighty.

My Project

LEGO Education is a great teaching tool for the 21 Century classroom. Lego's prompt creativity inside the classroom and the building possibilities are endless.

LEGO Education supports STEM knowledge, the skills to be creative, and use ones imagination.

Not only do LEGO's support creativity, but students can then use this creativity to write stories about their creations. LEGO Education is a great way to connect literacy and creativity. LEGO Education will keep students engaged, while using high order thinking skills to create different structures, and connect their creativity to literacy through writing.

When it comes to LEGO's, all age groups are engaged. Students enjoy the opportunity to use their imagination to create in a new and exciting way.
