This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing individuals that need hands-on opportunities to feel successful! I teach mostly English language learners at a Title I school, and our current curriculum is too difficult to tackle at this part of the school year.
Help me differentiate their intervention to meet their needs and create lifelong learners!
My students come to school each day excited to learn, but unfortunately that excitement dwindles away when confronted with the harsh reality that they need a lot of remedial support. More of the same is not what they need - innovative intervention is needed to make them succeed in school. Together, we can make their academic success a reality!
My Project
As an intervention teacher, I need hands on activities that keep students motivated while I offer 1 on 1 support to those students that are struggling the most. These Lego sets will ignite my student's desires to solve problems through tangible discovery and collaboration. The rechargeable batteries will keep their learning going strong.
My students need more opportunities to explore the relationship between language, math, science, technology and engineering.
These sets will take abstract concepts and give them hands on experience with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), ultimately promoting students' fundamental STEM understanding of simple and powered machines, structures and mechanisms.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
