This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Don't leave a child behind! The laptop computers in our algebra intervention lab have many missing keys and don't work much of the time. So many of the computers are out of commission that one student each day has to sit without a laptop to use. One child each day is left behind.

My students are from the inner-city of a large metropolitan area.

The community is a mixed commercial/residential area comprised of blue-collar working families. Our students come from homes that value education. Our school has one of the highest attendance records in the school district. Our students are eager to learn. Unfortunately our technology is wearing out and there are no funds to replace needed items.

My Project

My students are in dire need of a laptop computer to replace one that is beyond repair. In order to participate in the web-based intervention program for struggling math students, each student must have a computer on which to do his/her work. We have 23 students and only 22 functioning laptops. This situation denies one student each day the opportunity to improve their math skills.

Imagine, if you would, that this situation was happening in your community.

Would you want that one child that has to sit out each day in the lab to be your child? I certainly would not want it to be my child. Donations to this project will allow every child who comes to the intervention lab to receive much-needed help with improving their math skills.
