My Students

I have found more and more students have difficulty expressing themselves verbally, but when asked to write the answer they are more successful. The whiteboards will allow those students who can write, but are scared to talk, an equal playing field and another way to participate in their learning.

My students are economically disadvantage students who attend a charter school in South Los Angeles, CA.

My students are eager to learn but need the supplies to help them do so. They also need to to be given more than one way to learn, express themselves and share their knowledge. My students tend to suffer because their families don't have the disposable income to buy extras.

My Project

The whiteboards can be used in so many ways. They can be used in centers for student to complete skills development/review. They can be used to participate in class discussions. The whiteboards will allow students another way to express themselves. The whiteboards will allow us to work in small groups on the carpet or outside to do some exploring. The whiteboards will allow the students to share information. The great thing about using whiteboards is the students will be able to use them for any content area, state standard or activity.

The donations for this project will allow students the opportunity to learn in many different ways.

They will be able to express themselves using words or pictures which will become words through instruction. The whiteboards will allow them to explore learning in and out of the classroom. The whiteboards will allow students to the opportunity to learn across the curriculum.
