This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 1st grade in a lower socioeconomic area. Over the years so many changes have been made to the way we teach, but our students have remained the same. My students typically come from limited English-speaking backgrounds. Most of the students receive free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunch here at school. Students are very interested in technology today. They like to IPADs and computers to learn new things. They are very interested in learning new things by using technology. Please help my students become comfortable with technology.

My Project

I am requesting an IPAD so that my students can use it to play some math and reading games. We have two OSMO learning systems in our classroom, these require IPADs to operate them.

This IPAD would allow me to have 2 more students involved in playing the educational games and learning in a fun way.

Everyday my students ask me if they can use the IPADS that we currently have, but unfortunately one of the IPADS no longer works well because it is very old. It would be amazing to be able to offer this learning experience to two more students in my classroom.
