My Students

My students are so special. They have a glowing spirit around them that brings me so much joy to teach them. Their personalities are so different from each other, but they work well together and are not afraid to ask for help when they need it.

I teach at a DLI school which is a dual language immersion school.

Kindergarten through fifth grade are able to participate in the program. If they choose to participate in this, they do half of the day in English and half the day in Spanish.

My Project

These materials will help my students connect science with real world applications. Those applications include holidays, architecture, buildings, and etc. By using real world examples and using everyday items in relation to projects we do in the classroom, it can be more relatable. These will not be use for at home learning. They will be used in classroom.

I intend to use these STEM items to connect real life situations to items that are tangible and can help students better understand.

By using items that could be found in almost any home, it makes these projects easy and more engaging. Some of the household items are binder clips, cups, magnets, popsicle sticks, aluminum foil, rulers, dominos, and containers. These items will help students relate to the project by having the means to recreate it at their homes. By being able to recreate what was taught in the classroom, at home can build those connections to the necessary topics.
