Learning With My Peeps: From Egg to Chick

My students need an incubator as they learn about the life cycle of a chicken.

My Students

My students are fun, energetic, and unique. As a Title I School, many of my students face economic hardships. Anytime learning is hands-on and engaging it is special to them.

Innovative learning and interactive activities are guaranteed to grab their attention and keep them excited about learning.

I want to provide my students the chance to enjoy learning and to expand their knowledge about the world around them. Any connection to the outside world will impact my students' future potential in their community.

My Project

Each year in second grade, we hatch chicks as part of our animal life cycles unit. In the past, we have received the supplies from a local provider. Unfortunately, their supplies are limited this year.

I would like to provide my class with the experience of hatching chicks with a brand-new incubator to ensure success and make it a fun and positive experience.

Students will be able to see first hand the birth of a live animal, they will care for these chicks until they are old enough to go to a local farm.

This is a once in a lifetime learning experience for most of my students. Thank you for providing my students the chance to enhance their learning.
