My Students

I teach 4th grade in a Title I public school located in a city near San Francisco, CA. Our school is highly motivating, encourages students to transition from dependent to independent learners, and supports all families regardless of their background. Our school possesses a strong sense of community where teachers know all of the children and families. We see most parents several times a week for drop-off and pick-up. Many of the students have been in classes together since TK/Kinder and have established family-like relationships. The students are great at supporting and challenging each other every day.

The students in my classroom are diverse learners of all different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds who are all active, engaged, brilliant, creative and truly interested in learning.

My job, as a teacher, is to help each child find themself in my classroom.

My Project

It's the end of the day, and we prepare to go outside for P.E. to begin moving and running. Imagine the excitement when students hear their favorite song come on the speaker, and feel that little push to work just a little bit harder. Or imagine it's presentation day. You are getting ready to present to the class (with your mask on), but you're just a little nervous. Being able to use this mic and speaker gives you just a little bit more confidence, and helps your classmates hear your voice.

With this portable speaker and microphone, our class can learn with music both outside and inside.

We can "learn to the beat" wherever we go!
