Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our culinary arts students attend a Title I-funded school. We provide a culinary uniform so that students do not have to pay out of pocket for one. However, our approved vendors do not carry the small sizes of shoes that many of our students need.

These shoes will allow them to participate in our inspected, commercial, culinary arts kitchen safely, while learning the fundamentals of cooking as they prepare for culinary careers as well as using their culinary skills the rest of their life.

These shoes are checked in and cleaned at the end of each school year and are ready for a new set of students the following year. These shoes will last many years allowing many more students to benefit from this donation in the years to come.
