My Students

I don't think it's overstated to say that STEM education is vital to the future of our children. I teach 6th grade in a middle class neighborhood where the parents are very supportive of education but have busy lives like most of us. My students are especially bright, eager, and energetic learners who do best when they can touch and manipulate the classroom materials. They especially love hands-on investigations and engineering solutions to problems that I pose. This is why I am asking for something that will engage their minds with robots they can programs.

My Project

I have asked for two Sphero SPRK for my students. "Teach computational thinking by programming Sphero in three different ways designed for learner progression - draw, blocks, and Javascript." -Sohero.com. That sound perfect! I wish to teach my students how to code and how to work with robots.

I have a number of gifted students in my class.

I believe that these robots will challenge them and that they will be able to help my other students to learn coding.

I'm looking for hands on STEM activities to engage my students and spark their imagination. I know that these will fit perfectly in my classroom!
