My students are eager learners. However, they also struggle with learning. My students have to reach the same benchmarks their classroom peers do, all while dealing with Specific Learning Disabilities, Auditory Processing issues, and other impairments. We have technology available at our school, but only part of the day.
Ignacio Estrada said, "If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."
Please help me to change the way I teach, so that they may learn!
My Project
It is my goal to have a Chromebook and a headset with a microphone for each of my Special Education students to use while they are in their General Education classrooms. With the use of Chromebooks, my students that struggle with writing can dictate their notes using a Chromebook and microphone. They will be able to read books that their same age peers are reading, using audio books.
My students are eager learners that just want to keep up with their peers!
They are Special Education students that receive their instruction in a General Education setting. My students don't want to be the students that are holding the class up, just because they can't keep up. Please, help me to help them succeed!
We were fortunate to receive the donation of 3 Chromebooks earlier this year. However, enrollment has increased the number of students I service. More students means that our resources are limited. With your help, my students will have the resources they need, when they need them.
