My Students

School is imperative to success, and the students today are our future leaders. However, as a teacher in a low-income school, my students face challenges in and out of school.

Despite the challenges, my students remain eager to learn, and school provides them with a safe haven.

One of the biggest challenges my students face is the lack of technological resources available to them. Many parents work multiple jobs, and few are able to provide students with the resources necessary throughout the school year. As a community, we do the best we can to provide students with the resources and the necessary intervention materials to expand their academic growth.

It is my goal to keep them engaged throughout the year and provide them with a positive learning environment. I want them to feel that they can be anything they want to be and not allow their socioeconomic status to hold them back from their potential.

My Project

Every student learns at their own pace and in their own learning style. Meeting those needs can often be challenging. Our school has wonderful technological programs that help our students with increasing their comprehension levels in language arts and math. However, without having enough technology available to them, on a daily basis, makes using these resources challenging. These tablets will be a great addition to our classroom for several reasons.

Using these tablets, students will have access more often to our intervention materials on the daily basis.

This will not only help our struggling students, but it will also help our higher achieving students continue to show progress. These tablets will be used during our reading block in the morning, language arts block, math block and at the end of the day. Students are always eager to do their intervention on the computers and tablets. These tablets will definitely promote the love for learning.
