My Students

I teach a diverse group of students with mild to moderate learning disabilities in grades K-6 in Pleasant Grove, UT. They are uniquely wonderful in countless ways. They are inquisitive, full of ideas and have a great desire to learn!

My Project

As a teacher that instructs small groups, I have found that using books and activities related to those books is engaging and increases reading comprehension and vocabulary. To best do this, I like having a copy of the book for each student in the group instead of sharing. Having 4 copies of each book would help in teaching my small groups. Having several copies would also allow me to have students check out a copy to take home or provide activities if they are home sick. Having varying levels of books will also help to increase literacy at different levels of readers.
