Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love that my students do not let their current abilities interfere with their learning! Every day, they come to school eager to learn. In my classroom, we focus on their existing skills and find ways to help them learn in new ways to be successful. Many of the students do not have access to resources at home, so they are exposed to new learning opportunities when they are in our classroom. Our students are wonderful to work with, and we are excited about this school year!

My Project

Allowing students to paint will help our students learn through art. Also using sensory play such as sand, water beads, etc. will help focus on stimulating touch, sight, and hearing as those senses are most accessible. Sensory experiences support cognitive development. The materials used give us endless opportunities on having sensory play sessions for our students such as finding objects in kinetic sand, painting dots with different colors, finding letters in water beads, and many more! We hope to provide our students with an individual experience when it comes to learning to provide for their needs.
