Help me give my students STEM and dramatic play toys and resources to expand their imaginations, and problem-solving skills and let their bright minds explore through dramatic and open-ended play!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My kindergarten students love to learn through play! It helps them to develop their social-emotional skills, gross and fine motor skills, creativity, and imagination all while learning! With these resources, I want to expand the opportunities for my students to explore and learn through play.
The dramatic play center in my classroom would flourish with these new items that can allow students to explore and learn about careers like doctors and nurses, or construction.
STEM toys allow for open-ended creative play in which they have to use their brain and problem-solving skills. We often use these STEM tools for our start in the morning where students get a choice in what they want to explore during the start of the school day. Coming into school and getting a chance to explore right away improves students' focus, behavior, and the culture of my classroom.
My students are creative, fun, and love to learn! I would love to give them even more ways to choose the way they want to create and explore which is exactly what they should be doing in kindergarten!
