My Project

Every day, my students get 45 minutes of free choice time where they get to interact with their peers in play situations. The current materials in the classroom are broken, outdated, or have been misplaced over the years. Students have been struggling to maintain sustained play due to the lack of supplies.

Play time is crucial for students to learn how to get along, share, and how to problem solve in social settings.

The materials in this project will be used by students to enhance play scenarios. Students will be able to use the cars and car mat to create a city scenario. Students will use the animals to play and model what we have been learning in class about habitats and animals. Students will use the play dough tools to build creations with play dough and work on their fine motor skills. The visual timer will be used to help students keep track of the time they have to play with others.
