I teach language arts (reading and writing) to forty-three migrant children at a Title I, Power 3, Renaissance, ERT (Extended Day) public elementary school in a rural part of our county. Many of these students live in a migrant camp.
They are sweet, thoughtful, hardworking, and have an amazing understanding of the importance of education all of which makes me proud to be their teacher.
They attend school each day with smiles on their faces, eager to learn, and grow.
Our state has mandated 20 minutes of daily "Free Play" . This recess time allows students to learn and grow when they have the opportunity to play with Legos, Think Fun Rush and Melan Marble Run with their classmates. I would love to provide these games for them to play with.
Board games, such as the ones I have chosen, play a crucial role in children's development and growth.
It is an important aspect of their brain development and allows them to acquire logical and reasoning skills, boost critical thinking and gain spatial reasoning. Playing board games helps in learning, social and communication skills as well.
