My Students
I work at a school with a very diverse population as well as varied socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe that it is important for my students to have hands-on opportunities that will allow them to tap into their higher-level thinking skills as well as provide opportunities that will foster innovation, real-world problem solving, creativity, collaboration, information literacy, technology literacy, social skills, leadership and so much more. My students love technology and they love to explore their passions!
These 21st-century skills help to develop young minds for future success, as well as awaken passions and a new level of confidence within each student.
My goal is to cultivate innovative risk-takers who can embrace ambiguity and failure.
My Project
I am beginning to integrate maker space activities into my 5th-grade classroom. My goal is to challenge my students to create and learn through hands-on, personalized experiences. Makerspaces foster innovation, experimentation, real-world problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, leadership and so much more!
Green screen projects can be used throughout the curriculum; scientific processes, book talks, create a live television station, interviews, movies, and so much more.
This is the perfect way to integrate technology and creativity.
The Little Bits station will be a place to explore technology, construction, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, imagination, innovation, design, and so many more hands-on explorations.
