My Students

My kindergarten classroom is full of diverse learners with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Some students have school experience; while others are experiencing school for the first time. As we introduce them to the world of academics, we spend extra time exploring how are bodies learn best. In this process we try different seating options to figure out the most comfortable way to learn. Through this donation I can offer my students options other than desks and chairs. Flexible seating options give students the opportunity to explore academics in a comfortable environment.

My Project

Flexible seating will give my students that opportunity to explore different options for learning. Kindergarteners are on the move! These seating options will encourage good listening skills and motivate attention skills for young learners. Students will be able to try different seating options, and make choices for learning based on their own opinions. Currently in my classroom I have only desks, chairs, and a large rug for group time. These seating options will give students who have difficulty sitting still the correct input to focus and pay attention. Kindergarteners learn best through active learning. By giving them choices for seating like soft seats and wobble cushions we are providing them with the tools they need for life long learning!
