My students enter the room every morning with smiles on their faces, and energy to last for days, despite their challenging circumstances.

Located in Manning South Carolina our small school district is home to students preK-12th grade. Our school is 100% free lunch and breakfast, and many of my students receive food bags on the weekends. They have lived through a lot in their lives; hunger, poverty, illness and death.
My Project
My classroom is an all subject class which means my students are seated most of the day. After getting tired of the hard chair most times they just want to stand. With flexible seating, they would be able to focus more on the lesson and not the hard chairs. Many students have a diagnosis of ADHD and sensory challenges.
Since adding 5 yoga mats and 3 soft seating into our room, my students' engagement, productivity, and scores have increased!
The donation of a comfortable couch, and wobble chairs, my students will have the benefits of comfort, and movement while learning. This project will improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and help students to be more engaged in the learning process.
