Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have special needs that require personalized attention. Their autism already presents a challenge to social interactions, so artistic activity can be that bridge to connect my students to each other.

The watercolor crayons and rubbing boards can be the social activity that gets them interacting with the entire class.

Many of my students have isolated themselves in their own world so a group activity centered around the expression of art can have them emotionally connecting to their classmates.

In addition, the seasons books give children a chance to engage with their environment. Every child deserves the opportunity for equal access to the curriculum because the investment we make in them today, benefits all of us in the future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
