Many of the students in my third grade classroom are lower socioeconomic students. I strive to give them the education they need to become lifelong learners and go on to college to receive degrees. However, my biggest challenge as a teacher is to challenge my advanced students while also playing "catch up" with my struggling learners. This year I have started having stations/centers in my classroom. Students are able to work at their own pace and level at each station. Unfortunately, public school funding does not cover the cost of making these stations. I need activities which I can tier to meet my students' needs. I have found these centers at Lakeshore Learning Materials but cannot get the funding from anyone else. Math skills are a necessity in today's world. Please help me to teach my students these skills at their level and pace by providing these centers. My greatest fear is that if I don't challenge my highest students, they will become bored at school and my struggling learners will only fall further behind.
