This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low income, high poverty school, I recognize the many challenges that my scholars are faced with both in and out of the classroom. All of my scholars receive free breakfast and free lunch. They come to school without school supplies.
Despite all the challenges that my scholars face, they come to school expecting to be the exception.
My scholars may lack prior knowledge in many areas, but they have a lot of potential and love.
My Project
I look forward to seeing the expressions on my scholars' faces when they walk through the classroom door and see furniture that is not wobbly, broken or scratched. My scholars deserve to experience the best of the best, because, in my opinion, they are the best of the best!
The materials will inspire my scholars to stay focused, and organized while achieving the high standards we set as a community of learners.
To achieve these goals it is necessary to be engaged, as well as on task. These storage units and flexible chairs will allow my scholars to move freely from station to station.
