My students need these social skills games to learn these skills that they haven't yet to grasp! ALL of my students want to learn and I want to implement current events into the classroom with TIME!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Working in an urban inner-city alternative school surely has shaped me into the optimistic, firm and loving educator that I am today. I absolutely love ALL of my students and the staff that I work with everyday. I knew I was completely in love with my career when my friends would comment about how I used the word "school" rather than "having to go to work." I show up each and every single day to do the best teaching that I know my students deserve to be taught!
At our middle school, we provide academic and social-emotional support to students in an alternative setting utilizing best practices and positive support systems.
We believe that with support, all students can succeed.
My Project
We are requesting social emotional skills games, including impulse control, how to express anger appropriately, and friendship building that are so necessary to school. Working in an urban inner city alternative school has taught me to take a step back and build those relationships first. Truly understanding my students in front of me is my ultimate goal because without delving into their lives, how will I be able to reach them best?
My students have gone through much trauma in their lives and I just want them to know it is going to be okay with the necessary tools and skills I will teach them!
I want my students to be aware of the world around them with TIME for Kids and my special education students to use these place markers to the best of their ability! I appreciate all this love and support of this project based funding! I am one happy special education teacher!
