This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Middle School is a tough place and many students struggle to fit in academically and socially. What do you do when you teach students who are not where they are supposed to be academically?
At my Title I school, I want to ensure that my students with English language deficiencies and ESE students have the resources and strategies that will help them perform at grade level and reach academic success.
Most of my students are qualified for free and reduced lunch and many of them are academically behind or are English language learners. However, they are amazing in their own way and they have proven that they are capable of achieving academic success when given the resources.
My school provides opportunities for students to identify and attain individual educational goals including, literacy, English mastery, STEM skills, Social-emotional support, and personal enrichment. We also provide the encouragement and experience in the success that they need to become and remain motivated.
My Project
While I'm saddened that I don't get to do all the fun activities I had planned to do with my students. It doesn't mean that we can continue to stay engaged virtually. In these unprecedented times educators have to do what we can to keep learning innovative, interactive, and engaging.
I will use the iPad to access various learning apps and resources such as merge cubes and virtual-tee and I will use the adapter to share with my students during our live sessions.
This will encourage innovation at home. Learning never closes!
