My Project

Science is such a fun subject to teacher and these books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I have worked hard to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy and these books will match our NGSS 4th grade science curriculum! Most books that I put on display for a given unit of study, are not only read once by me but are revisited time and time again by the students. They are thankful for the opportunities to read and reread books. My students are still at an age where they love a good picture book and are discovering that picture books aren't just for primary students. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and support them in the curriculum topic we are studying.

The books that I have chosen are mostly science and social studies topics that are hard to locate in a school library.

Many of my students enjoy reading a nonfiction book about a given topic. With these books, students will be able to build their knowledge of waves, animal adaptations, all types of energy, and the life stories some famous people. With all these new children's books, my students will be able to read from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently while learning information on the given topic.

Mrs. Farrow will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 31.
