My Students

Curious is just one word that comes to mind when I think about my students. My students are very diverse in their learning styles, yet they are all seeking to attain new knowledge and grow. Their desire to problem solve and take chances is impressive. They don’t stop just because something is challenging.

The students I get the opportunity to teach and love this year are pushing me to become a better teacher.

They want to know more, they want to know why, and more importantly they want to help each other be successful. In turn, they are inspiring me to find new ways to help them grow.

My Project

Throughout the year the students can apply for jobs in our classroom. They learn to write a resume and fill out a job application. Then students are paid by completing their jobs correctly and on time. Students can also earn money for their behavior, work completion, working hard, being kind, and many other things. Twice a year we have a classroom store they can spend their hard earned money on.

I would love to fill our classroom store with items that motivate students to be responsible, give their best effort, and help others.

Students learn many important life skills though this classroom economy project. They learn that hard work pays off, job skills, how to work with others, and how to manage their finances.

Not only do my students learn many important life skills, but it helps our classroom to run smoothly.
