Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach English as a New Language to K through Fifth Grade students. I am working at an underfunded district school in the Bronx. My students are eager and anxious about learning a new language, as so many of them comes from different cultural backgrounds. My students are learning to acquire the English language, every student learn differently some students are hands on learners others are visual, auditory, etc. I am trying to reach all my students on their different learning styles. To enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom students will have access to visuals and build up their vocabulary that can transforms them into English learning lessons.
This will be beneficial for my students because I will be able to increase their engagement and motivation through visuals and it will increase the amount of centers and project-based learning that we can use in the classroom.
Students will have access to text features or interactive games and they will be able to read and enjoy books
My Project
They will be able to choose different activities that interest them. The best way to increase their speaking ability is to learn new vocabularies, and these resources will continue to help my students grow stronger in speaking as well as writing. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in acquiring the language by interacting with their peers, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with new words to express themselves.
Students will have access to interactive games and they will be able to enjoy reading, writing and speaking through a variety of learning resources, which will help them to enjoy independent reading time.
