My Students

Our Elementary School is a Title I school located in a rural community. My kids come from many different backgrounds making each one special. I am lucky to see my kiddos coming in with smiles on their faces, arms open for embraces and the eagerness to learn. Everything we do, see, experience and share is important to them in their lives, making learning goals and outcomes so important. I set high expectations and challenge my students in order for them to strive to achieve. We work hard and we play hard. My students know what it means to persevere. We work in whole groups, small groups, and independently. Since Pre-k is not available to all students, my kids come in at different learning levels. Kindergarten is the foundation and I want my kids to have a solid one. I want all of my students to know that I believe in them, and with your help, they will believe in themselves.

My Project

These items will help us get our learning environment together by allowing the children to have hands on experiences and choices. When given choices in seating, it allows the students to work more focused and comfortable. By having such choices as beanbag chairs and wobble chairs, students will be eager to learn in their style. In kindergarten, we are learning about the world around us and in order to do so, we need to have hands on pieces. Being able to manipulate and create shapes with both Magna Tiles and 3d shapes, we are able to understand the concepts of shapes and be able to answer the question: “how do you know?”
