This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing people. Most of them are now in a grade higher than their parents ever finished. They have been through things that most adults have never been through. I just want to show them how amazing people and school can be!

Our school serves a low-income community where 98% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch assistance, and walking to school can be a scary ordeal given our inner-city setting.

In order to serve the needs of the community, many subjects are taught in a way that the students are able to take their new skills home and teach their parents and help younger siblings learn too.

My Project

By getting these resources my students will be able to learn on a different level. They will be able to practice skills learned in class. With a HP Net Book, my students will be able to complete math projects that challenge their new skills bringing them one step closer to success in math. By incorporating the HP Net Book into the classroom, I will encourage my students to push themselves to that next level. I never want my students to settle with known knowledge. I want them to always want more! Because the Net Book will also allow for Internet usage, my students will be able to see how learning math is relevant to the "real world." By learning this, they will be more excited to learn math and expand their mathematical brain.

This project is so important to my students because Math and Technology is how they will stand out amongst their peers!

If they are able to use this project to improve their math skills it will only make them more successful in school and life! I hope all of my students can look back and say that they felt successful because of the math they learned in fourth-grade!
