Our second grade class is incredibly grateful for the colorful carpet and whiteboards you provided. Your generosity has already made a big difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nThe colorful carpet has become one of the most special places in our classroom. It gives us a comfortable space where we can gather together for read-alouds, morning meetings, and group lessons. The bright colors make our classroom feel warm, welcoming, and exciting. Sitting together on the carpet helps us focus, share ideas, and feel like a team while we learn.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards have also become an important learning tool for us. We use them every day to practice math problems, spelling words, drawing ideas, and answering questions during lessons. Instead of worrying about making mistakes on paper, we can try our best, erase, and try again. This helps us build confidence and participate more during class.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is more interactive, comfortable, and fun. The carpet brings us together as a learning community, and the whiteboards help every student stay engaged and involved. As I mentioned, I am a math intervention teacher who works with Kindergarten-fifth grade students. Many of my students are multiple grade years behind and really need extra practice and support with their foundational math skills. Oftentimes, math is taught in a very concrete way with pencil, paper, and manipulatives. Because of this, many students feel that math is boring and have low self esteem when they have to go to a math intervention class. My goal was to make math fun through various math games and be able to engage and excite students about math. \r\n\r\nWhen I showed my students all of the games that were purchased for our class, their eyes lit up! Since we have received the math games, I have been able to implement many of the games as activities that students can choose to participate in after they complete their work. Students also have opportunities to play the games on Fridays as a \"Fun Friday\" activity. Before I begin and after I end a math intervention cycle with students, I ask them how they feel about math and whether it is hard, tricky, or easy. Before beginning a math intervention cycle, most students report that math is not very fun and that they feel okay about math or even dislike it. After ending a math intervention cycle, many students report that they really like math and that it is fun. A lot of students' feelings about math are because of the fun games and activities that they get to play and the many fun ways that they can engage with math. \r\n\r\nI believe that the curriculum doesn't give enough time for students to play with numbers and these games allow students to do just that: play and learn. These games help create engagement and continue to make math fun. Students have multiple opportunities and ways to practice math that are different from just using a pencil and paper. Students have mentioned that they really love the variety of games to choose from. The most popular activities that they enjoy are the puzzles, grab and match activities, and BINGO games. They also really enjoy the variety of folder games. Thank you again for your generous donation. It truly makes all of the difference.","fullyFundedDate":1762559031613,"projectUrl":"project/wanted-fun-while-practicing-math/9740942/","projectTitle":"Wanted: Fun while Practicing Math","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10268578"},{"teacherId":7949006,"projectId":9699547,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom.
