I teach in a rural Wisconsin school. We have about 300 students in our school. Our school is a k-12 building where our students have the opportunity to interact with students of all different ages and abilities.
Our district prides itself in helping each child to reach their greatest potential while they are with us.
We like to make sure we have different types of learning available to all of our students. Each student is an individual, not a "one size fits all." We have students who love to do projects, and others who would rather do paper/pencil work. We try to cater to all students learning.
The books that I have choose all teach a lesson. These books will help the students at my school to learn the qualities of empathy, compassion, equality, and friendship.
I will use this books in my classroom and at quarterly assemblies to teach our students lesson through the characters in the books.
We will talk about the moral of the stories and what our take aways are.
We would also like to start a program where we read bedtime stories to the students. We could record the stories being read aloud and then post them for the students to view at home nightly.
