Learning Life Cycles, Hands-On!

My students need 4 life cycle photo charts, craft foam, a microscope, a frog kit, a ladybug kit, an ant kit, a coupon for 5 butterfly larvae, and life cycles sets.

My Students

My first grade students always LOVE learning about insects and life cycles! We do not have the materials we need to learn about these subjects using inquiry and hands-on activities.

I teach first grade in a small, public school.

We have a high poverty rate. Many of my students do not have resources at home, so I try to provide as much as I can in the classroom. First graders are inquisitive and LOVE to learn, but it must be through hands-on activities, using manipulatives and real world objects!

My Project

The resources I am requesting will allow students to witness firsthand the exciting world of insects and life cycles! They will get to watch the stages of butterflies, frogs, and ladybugs! They will get to see what ants really do underground! They will have manipulatives to create these life cycles and view insects up close with the microscope!

Your support of this project will ensure my students really "learn" about life cycles and insects through fun activities and hands-on inquiry!

Students will gain confidence in the exploration of their world, creating more confidence when they explore other subject areas, as well as the outside world!
