Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 21 students, 13 of whom are English language learners. My students are eager to learn and work hard. They come from homes where life can be hard. They love school and want to succeed. Thank you for helping me bring hope and joy to them.

My Project

Because I teach in a Title I school, the ability for parents to help fund classroom supplies is limited, leaving me to provide for the needs of the classroom out of pocket. Letter recognition and sound identification are the beginning of learning to read. Help my kindergarteners get the tools needed to begin pre-reading. The students I serve need an immersive experience in letter identification and recognition. They come from homes where literacy is not a given and the ability to provide enriching materials is very limited. Children learn best through play. These tools will allow them to gain the skills of letter identification, which will later enable them to identify phonemes. Thank you for supporting my class!
