This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class this year consists of 30 students in a suburban area in Utah. Most of them live in apartments, and a lot of them get free or reduced-price lunch. This is a very diverse group, socially, economically, and culturally. Many are refugees and are experiencing cultural adjustment.

Though families of my students are very supportive and are willing to help any way they can, they have limited resources.

A lot of them consists of two working parents who are busy trying to make a living. Some are newcomers who are trying to adapt, learn the language and survive.

My Project

Learning is more relevant when students put into practice what they learn. Application requires resources, materials, items and tools. in addition, Some students need especial items to help them focus.

My students need essential materials and supplies to help them be more effective and productive learners.

They also need motivators and tools to keep them engaged and focused as they learn. In addition, some of my students need items to touch and feel, special seats to sit on the floor and fidget rubber bands to put the fidgety feet on.
