My Students

I teach K-2 students art, music, health, and physical education. My students already come from difficult situations. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of them rely on the school for basic needs from school supplies, food for the weekend, to dental and eye exams. They are already struggling to have the resources needed to succeed in school.

Now with distance learning, during COVID -19, I am worried that students don’t have the resources they need at home.

We are sending home packets of work because many students don’t have access to the internet or devices to engage in digital learning.

My Project

These sketchbooks, crayons, and colored pencils will help students be able to continue with their art at home. Students will have a place to practice their directed drawings that I have sent home. My students are so creative and love our art time.

I would love to bring just a little of that joy to their home by providing the art supplies they need to create their little masterpieces.

Then maybe this distance learning won’t be so hard, knowing the students have what they need, even when I can’t be.
