My students need outdoor sport equipment including balls and hula hoops. Games that can be played outdoors such as ring toss, shapes mats, and portable soccer goal nets. They also need an equipment cart.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The materials purchased through this project will benefit four preschool special education classes. The students in our classes range in ages from two years old to five years old. Most have special needs and some serve as typically developing peer models. Many of our students with special needs are non-verbal and several have mobility issues. Like many preschoolers, our students are working on turn taking and cooperative play with one another.
Since our students love being outdoors, we teachers love to work on our students' motor and social goals during our outside time.
Unfortunately, our Title I school lacks the funds to provide us with outdoor play materials to help keep our students interacting with one another while they play. Thanks for your consideration in supporting our amazing students!
My Project
Our school does not have any sort of outdoor storage for play materials and rules prohibit purchasing outdoor storage for this purpose. Since we would like our students to have the opportunity to engage in a variety of outdoor activities such as ball play, soccer, etc., we need a way to transport these materials in and out of the school easily. Thus, we are requesting an outdoor cart to assist with this effort.
Using more outdoor play materials will undoubtedly increase social interactions between our students.
We would love to see our students engaging in more cooperative gross motor games including catch, soccer, bean bag toss, etc. We know that our little ones will love these activities and cannot wait to share their joy and excitement with you.
