This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very energetic and have a big appetite for learning. They are a diverse group of very special, inner city, urban kids, each one unique and most are low income class kids from hard working families. Growing up in a poor, urban city is difficult no matter what age you are. When you are as young as my students, every little incident can have a tremendous impact in their life. I want my students to be able to talk about their emotions, worries and concerns. I want to teach them that there is always a better choice in a given situation.

My students are full of life and energy and need the right materials to support their learning.

Having a vast variety of choices of materials and supplies in the classroom will inspire my students to use their expressive language and sensory skills by exploring and creating those life experiences that will be treasured forever.

My Project

Students are very receptive to learning using technology and are highly motivated by it. Having a Microsoft Surface Laptop available during small group instruction will bring my students' learning to a whole new level since technology is a key component in classrooms today. With the use of various websites, games, videos and apps I will be able to instill in my students a love for science, technology, engineering and math. My students will be able experience how STEM skills are applied in everyday life.

We are requesting a Microsoft Surface Laptop which will provide my students with a wealth of knowledge geared to learning about STEM.

My students will solve everyday problems using technology and hands-on activities. The computer I’m requesting in this project will make a great difference because my students are early learners who have limited access to STEM materials at school.

Through the use of this Surface laptop my students will be able to have a window of learning without leaving the classroom and be able to investigate and integrate STEM into the different subjects.
